The ISCAR 5567338 is a solid carbide replaceable tip drill insert designed for high-productivity hole-making operations in steel and cast iron. Manufactured under the HCP-IQ series, this tip carries the IC908 submicron carbide grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN finish, delivering hardness and thermal resistance at the cutting edge. The tip measures 0.453 inches (29/64 inch) in cutting diameter with a functional length of 0.152 inches and an overall height of 0.260 inches. A self-centering, 139-degree drill point eliminates the need for a pilot hole in most applications. The slow spiral, web-thinned flute geometry reduces thrust and promotes chip evacuation. Licensed HVAC techs, machinists, and metalworking professionals working in production or maintenance environments are the primary installers of this insert.
This replaceable tip is suited for drilling into steel and cast iron as primary workpiece materials, with secondary capability in stainless steel, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials. The HCP-IQ series is intended for modular drill bodies that accept the HCP-IQ insert seat size 11 interface. Designed for use with ISCAR HCP-IQ series modular drill bodies accepting insert seat size 11. Compatible with primary workpiece materials steel and cast iron (ISO material codes P and K) and secondary materials stainless steel, super-alloys and titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes M, S, and H).
Installation is performed by machining professionals using the twist-lock insert holding method specific to the HCP-IQ drill body interface. Ensure the drill body and spindle are fully stopped and de-energized before seating or removing the replaceable tip. Use the correct torque driver or key specified by the drill body manufacturer to secure the insert; do not over-tighten or substitute tools. Verify insert seating and runout before initiating a cut, particularly in tight-tolerance applications.
