The ISCAR 5567156 is a solid carbide replaceable tip drill insert from the ICM series, designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding workpiece materials. The tip carries a dual TiAlN and TiN PVD coating applied over a submicron carbide substrate in grade IC907, which supports extended tool life under heat and abrasion. The drill point features a 140-degree included angle with a thinned web geometry, reducing entry forces and improving centering. The T-Land style cutting edge geometry and slow spiral flute configuration make this tip particularly suited for controlled chip evacuation in tough materials. Licensed under ISCAR grade IC907 and conforming to ISO 13399 standards, this replaceable tip installs into compatible ICM series drill bodies.
This tip is intended for drilling operations in stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium as primary workpiece materials, with additional suitability for steel, cast iron, and hard materials in secondary applications. The ICM series replaceable tip system is widely used in CNC machining centers across aerospace, energy, and general metalworking environments where consistent hole quality in difficult-to-machine alloys is required. The insert seat size is 10, and the ISO number designation is ICM 100. Coolant-through capability is not supported by this tip configuration.
Designed for use with ISCAR ICM series replaceable tip drill bodies accepting insert seat size 10, ISO number ICM 100. Compatible workpiece material codes include M (stainless steel, superalloy, titanium), P (steel), K (cast iron), and H (hard material) per ISO material classification.
Installation of replaceable carbide drill tips should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the spindle fully stopped and machine power isolated. The tip seats via a twist-lock method into the mating drill body; ensure the seating pocket is clean and free of chips or coolant residue before inserting the tip. Do not use impact tools to seat or remove the tip, as this can damage the carbide or the insert pocket. Follow the drill body manufacturer torque guidelines for the clamping mechanism.
