The ISCAR 5567152 is a carbide replaceable tip drill insert belonging to the ICM series, designed for use with compatible ICM-body drilling systems. Manufactured to IC907 grade from submicron solid carbide, this tip features a TiAlN and TiN PVD coating applied over a T-Land edge geometry with web thinning. The 140-degree included angle and slow spiral flute configuration are optimized for penetration efficiency and chip evacuation in difficult-to-machine materials. With a cutting diameter of 0.689 inches and a functional length of 0.285 inches, this tip is suited for precision hole-making operations where insert replaceability reduces downtime on production setups.
This replaceable tip drill is primarily intended for machining stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, with secondary suitability for steel, cast iron, and hard materials. Its PVD TiAlN and TiN coating combination provides thermal resistance and surface hardness needed to maintain edge integrity when cutting ISO material groups M, S, P, K, and H. The ICM series format allows machinists to swap worn tips without replacing the entire drill body, making it a practical choice for CNC machining centers running high-mix or production work on demanding workpiece materials.
Designed for use with ISCAR ICM series replaceable tip drill bodies at insert seat size 17, ISO number ICM 175. Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (ISO groups M and S). Secondary workpiece materials include steel, cast iron, and hard materials (ISO groups P, K, and H).
Installation and removal of replaceable tip drill inserts should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine locked out per facility lockout-tagout procedures. Use the appropriate torque wrench and ISCAR-specified seating tool to avoid damage to the tip seat or insert bore. Inspect the drill body seat for chips or wear before installing a new tip. Do not force the tip into the body if resistance is felt — verify seat size compatibility before assembly.
