The ISCAR 5567151 is a carbide replaceable tip drill insert designed for precision hole-making in demanding materials. Built to the ICM series platform, this tip carries the IC907 grade designation, a submicron solid carbide substrate applied with a PVD-coated TiAlN and TiN finish. The cutting diameter is 0.4920 inches with a 140-degree included angle at the drill point. The point geometry is thinned, using a T-Land style edge prep and slow spiral fluting to manage chip flow and reduce cutting forces in difficult workpiece materials. Licensed HVAC and plumbing trades do not install this part — it is a machining consumable used by machinists and toolroom technicians in metal-cutting operations.
This replaceable tip is engineered for drilling operations in stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium as its primary workpiece materials, with secondary suitability in steel, cast iron, and hard materials. The ICM series uses an insert seat size 12 platform, and this tip indexes into compatible ICM series drill bodies without full tool replacement. At 0.2760 inches in height and 0.2010 inches of functional length, it is sized for the ICM 125 ISO number insert seat. The slow spiral flute type aids chip evacuation in gummy or work-hardening alloys such as austenitic stainless and titanium alloys.
Designed for use with ISCAR ICM series replaceable tip drill bodies sized for insert seat size 12, ISO number ICM 125. Compatible with drilling operations in stainless steel (ISO material code M), superalloys and titanium (ISO material code S), steel (ISO material code P), cast iron (ISO material code K), and hard materials (ISO material code H). Coolant-through is not supported by this tip geometry.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician using the appropriate torque wrench and insert key specified for the ICM series drill body. Ensure the drill body seat is clean and free of chips or debris before seating the tip. Do not exceed the clamping method specified for the twist-lock insert holding system. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and ISCAR tooling assembly instructions for proper tip engagement and runout verification before cutting.
