The ISCAR 5567147 is a solid carbide replaceable tip drill insert in the ICM series, designed to seat into compatible ICM drill bodies for precision hole-making in demanding materials. Manufactured to grade IC907 with a submicron carbide substrate, the insert features a TiAlN and TiN PVD coating that supports extended tool life in abrasive and heat-generating applications. The 140-degree included angle with web thinning and a T-Land edge preparation reduces entry forces and improves centering. With a cutting diameter of 0.591 inches (15.01 mm) and a functional length of 0.255 inches, this insert is suited to close-tolerance drilling work performed by machinists and tooling professionals.
This insert is engineered for primary use in stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (ISO material groups M and S), with secondary applicability in steel, cast iron, and hard materials (ISO groups P, K, and H). It is a single-piece consumable that drops into an ICM series drill body — a common setup on CNC turning and machining centers in aerospace, medical device, and general precision manufacturing environments. The slow spiral flute geometry and web-thinned point are specifically suited to the chip-evacuation demands of gummy, work-hardening alloys.
Designed for use with ISCAR ICM series drill bodies accepting a size 15 insert seat (ISO number ICM 150). Verify body seat size and clamping style before ordering.
Replaceable tip drill inserts of this type are seated and secured using the twist-lock method specified by the drill body manufacturer — ensure the seating taper and locking threads are clean and free of chips before installing. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing inserts. Use only the recommended torque driver or key supplied with the drill body; overtightening or undertightening the insert can cause premature failure or insert ejection during cutting. Inspect the insert seat in the body for wear or damage each time the insert is replaced.
