The ISCAR 5566962 is a VNMG2.5-2-NF carbide turning insert designed for precision external and internal turning operations. Manufactured from solid carbide with a CVD-applied TiCN/Al2O3/TiN multilayer coating under the IC6015 grade, this insert delivers reliable wear resistance and thermal stability in demanding machining applications. The 35-degree diamond shape (V) provides a sharp cutting edge geometry suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes. Key dimensional specs include a 12.4 mm insert length, a 7.15 mm inscribed circle, a 0.8 mm corner radius, and a 3.97 mm insert thickness. It is part of the ISCAR Isoturn series and conforms to ISO 13399 standards.
This insert is intended for use in CNC turning centers and conventional lathes where ISO-standard toolholders accept VNMG-style inserts. The IC6015 grade with its TiCN/Al2O3/TiN CVD coating is formulated primarily for machining stainless steel and similar ISO M-class workpiece materials. It is a right-hand (RH) cutting insert with a positive rake geometry and an NF chip breaker configuration, making it well suited for finishing cuts at controlled depths. Maximum recommended depth of cut is 3.00 mm. This insert is used by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
Designed for use in VNMG-style ISO-standard toolholders as part of the ISCAR Isoturn series. Intended primarily for right-hand turning of ISO M-class workpiece materials (stainless steel and similar). No additional compatible model numbers were specified in the product data.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or changing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and manufacturer-specified clamping hardware for the toolholder to ensure proper insert seating. Inspect the insert seat and clamping screw for debris or damage before each insert change to avoid premature edge failure.
