The ISCAR 5566822 is a DNMG432F3P-style indexable turning insert in the IC8250 manufacturer grade, designed for precision lathe and turning center operations. Built from solid carbide and finished with a CVD-applied TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN multilayer coating, it delivers hardness and thermal resistance suited for continuous and interrupted cuts. The insert measures 15.49 mm (0.61 inches) in length with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch (0.0313-inch) corner radius. The 55-degree diamond shape and F3P chip breaker geometry produce positive rake cutting action, controlling chip flow across a range of feed and depth conditions. It is a double-ended insert, maximizing index life per unit.
This insert is engineered for turning operations on stainless steel and carbon or alloy steel workpieces, corresponding to ISO material codes M and P. It fits into the Isoturn series toolholding system and is compatible with clamp-and-pin insert holding methods using the DNMG standard seating pocket. Maximum depth of cut is 3.51 mm (0.138 inches). Typical applications include external turning, facing, and profiling on CNC lathes and manual turning centers where controlled chip breaking on ferrous materials is required. It conforms to ISO 13399 standards for cutting tool data representation.
Designed for use in Isoturn series toolholders accepting DNMG432 inserts with clamp or pin holding methods and an N clearance, M tolerance seating pocket. Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel (ISO M) and steel (ISO P).
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician on a powered-down or E-stopped machine with spindle lock engaged. Seat the insert fully into the pocket before tightening the clamp or pin; an improperly seated insert can fracture under cutting load. Inspect the pocket and clamp components for chips or wear before indexing to a fresh edge. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's clamping torque specification for the DNMG pocket style.
