The ISCAR 5566681 is a CNMG432-M3P double-ended turning insert in the Isoturn series, manufactured from solid carbide and CVD-coated with a TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN multilayer coating. Grade IC8250 is engineered for consistent performance in turning operations on stainless steel and steel workpieces. The 80-degree diamond insert shape (Code C) provides a strong cutting geometry with a positive rake angle. The insert measures 12.9 mm (0.508 inches) in length with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch corner radius, making it suitable for medium-duty turning and facing applications. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install and index this insert.
This insert is designed for turning and facing operations in both job shop and production environments. The M3P chip breaker geometry is optimized for stainless steel and steel, helping manage chip flow and reduce built-up edge in continuous and semi-interrupted cuts. The maximum depth of cut is 5.51 mm (0.217 inches). The Clamp and Pin holding method ensures rigid seating in compatible toolholders. As a multi-use insert, it supports facing as a primary application alongside general turning work on CNMG-compatible toolholding systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for CNMG 432 insert seats. Compatible with CNMG-style toolholders using Clamp and Pin holding methods. Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel (ISO Code M) and steel (ISO Code P). Refer to ISCAR toolholder documentation for confirmed seat compatibility.
Insert indexing and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine fully stopped and power isolated. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamping hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the insert correctly. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut rating of 5.51 mm (0.217 inches) for the application. Inspect the insert seat for debris or damage before each index to maintain dimensional accuracy and tool life.
