The ISCAR 5560574 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for metal cutting applications on CNC and manual lathes. Manufactured to the DNMG insert style with a 55-degree diamond shape, this insert carries ISCAR grade IC6015 and features a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN. The coating stack improves wear resistance and thermal stability across a range of cutting conditions. The M3M chip breaker geometry is engineered for controlled chip flow during turning operations. At 11.63 mm in length with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and a 1/64-inch corner radius, this insert suits medium-duty turning passes on stainless steels and other ISO M-group workpiece materials.
This insert is suited for external and internal turning operations in production and job-shop environments. It is primarily intended for ISO M-group workpiece materials, which includes austenitic and ferritic stainless steels. The Isoturn series designation places it in ISCAR's general turning insert lineup, appropriate for medium cutting depths up to 3.50 mm. Installation requires a compatible DNMG toolholder using clamp and pin holding, standard in most turning tool blocks. Machinists and tooling technicians working in CNC turning centers or turret lathes will find this insert a direct fit in any DNMG 331 seat.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use insert for DNMG 331 toolholders using clamp and pin holding methods, as specified in the Isoturn series. Verify toolholder seat geometry and insert size code 331 before installation.
This insert is installed and serviced by machinists, tooling technicians, and CNC setup personnel. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing any turning insert. Use the correct clamp and pin hardware specified for DNMG-style holders; do not overtighten clamping screws with improvised tools. Inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before installing a new insert to ensure proper seating and runout.
