The ISCAR 5530629 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision holemaking in demanding metalworking applications. Built from submicron-grade carbide and finished with a TiAlN coating, this bit handles elevated cutting temperatures and abrasive workpiece materials without premature edge breakdown. It features a 2 mm diameter, a 140-degree drill point angle, and a right-hand spiral flute configuration. The overall length is 60 mm with a 12 mm flute length and a 44 mm straight-cylindrical shank. The tapered web and regular spiral geometry promote chip evacuation and maintain hole accuracy. Machinists and tooling technicians working in job-shop and production environments install this bit in CNC machining centers and drill presses.
This drill bit is rated for use in cast iron, hard materials, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, carbon and alloy steel, and superalloys including titanium. The SCD-AP4 series targets applications where tight diameter tolerance and consistent hole quality are required across these material groups. The maximum drilling depth is 8 mm, and the 4xD flute-to-diameter ratio suits short, precise bore operations rather than deep-hole drilling. It is a strong fit for aerospace, automotive, and general precision machining environments where material hardness and heat generation are primary concerns.
Designed for use in the ISCAR SCD-AP4 series platform. Compatible with workpiece material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S per ISO material classification, covering cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, steel, and superalloys including titanium.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with carbide cutting tool handling. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in a compatible collet chuck or drill chuck before operation, and verify runout is within acceptable limits for the diameter class. Carbide drill bits are brittle compared to high-speed steel and should not be subjected to lateral loading or impact. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace the bit at the first sign of chipping or coating wear to avoid workpiece damage.
