The ISCAR 5530130 is a solid carbide helical boring bar designed for internal turning and boring operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a right-hand cutting direction and carries a TiAlN finish coating paired with ISCAR grade IC908, a submicron carbide grade suited for steel, stainless, and high-temperature alloys at elevated cutting speeds. The shank diameter is 8 millimeters with an overall length of 55 millimeters. Minimum bore diameter is 0.2756 inches (7.00 mm) and maximum bore depth reaches 0.8268 inches (21.00 mm). The 0.3 mm corner radius balances edge strength with surface finish requirements. Machinists and CNC operators install this bar in standard ER or proprietary tool holders.
This boring bar is suited for small-diameter internal boring where rigidity and vibration resistance are critical. The helical flute geometry aids chip evacuation in blind and through-bore applications. Typical use cases include finish boring of hydraulic valve bodies, injector bores, bearing housings, and similar close-tolerance features in job shop and production environments. The IC908 grade extends tool life in interrupted cuts and when machining work-hardened surfaces.

This tooling is installed by machinists and CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling.
