The ISCAR 5510359 is a solid carbide turning insert with grade IC8250 and a WNMG332F3P designation, designed for single-point turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. The insert carries a multilayer PVD coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, which delivers wear resistance and thermal stability during continuous and interrupted cuts. The 80-degree trigon (W) shape with a neutral 0-degree relief angle and an F3P chip breaker geometry suits positive-rake toolholding systems. The inscribed circle measures 0.375 inches, insert thickness is 0.1875 inches, and the corner radius is 0.031 inches. Machinists and CNC operators working in production or job-shop environments install this insert.
This insert is rated for turning steel (ISO P) as its primary workpiece material and stainless steel (ISO M) as a secondary application. The F3P chip breaker geometry is suited to finishing and light roughing passes where chip control and surface finish are priorities. Maximum depth of cut reaches 0.118 inches (3.00 mm). The insert is held by clamp or pin in compatible WNMG-style toolholders and is classified under the Isoturn series. It conforms to ISO 13399 for tool data exchange and is appropriate for use on ferrous materials in both high-production and small-batch turning applications.
Designed for use in WNMG-style toolholders that accept clamp or pin insert retention. Primary workpiece material compatibility is ISO P (steel) with secondary compatibility for ISO M (stainless steel). Part of the ISCAR Isoturn series.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC technicians. Power down and lock out the machine before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully in the toolholder pocket before engaging the clamp or pin, and verify that the seating surface is clean and free of chips or debris. Do not overtighten the clamping screw; refer to the toolholder manufacturer specification for torque guidance.
