The ISCAR 5509595 is a solid carbide replaceable tip drill in the ICP-2M series, designed for high-productivity hole-making in ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. It carries the IC908 manufacturer grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, a submicron carbide substrate, and a 140-degree included point angle. The double-margin, slow-spiral flute geometry provides stable chip evacuation and consistent hole quality. With a cutting diameter of 0.543 inches and a functional length of 0.299 inches, this tip seats into compatible ICP-2M insert-seat-size 13 drill bodies and is replaced without disturbing the body or re-indicating the tool. Licensed machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators use this tip in production environments where repeated insert changes are routine.
Primary application is drilling into steel workpieces as classified under ISO material code P. The tip is also rated for stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), super-alloys and titanium (S), and hard materials (H), making it suitable for aerospace, oil and gas, and general metalworking operations run on machining centers and CNC lathes with driven tooling. The two-flute spiral configuration and web-thinned point reduce entry thrust and improve chip control at moderate to high feed rates in through-hole and blind-hole operations.
Designed for use with ICP-2M series drill bodies requiring insert seat size 13. Compatible with primary workpiece material steel (ISO code P) and secondary materials stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), super-alloys and titanium (S), and hard materials (H). Verify body holder series and seat size before ordering.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians following the drill body manufacturer's tip-change procedure. Power down the machine and engage the spindle lock before seating or removing the tip. Use the correct torx or locking key specified by the drill body manufacturer — do not substitute tools or exceed the recommended seating method. Inspect the insert pocket for debris or damage before installing a new tip to ensure proper seating and runout.
