The ISCAR 5509368 is a WNMG433TF carbide turning insert in the IC6015 manufacturer grade, designed for external and internal turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. The insert carries a CVD-applied tri-layer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, which delivers high wear resistance with maintained toughness - a combination suited for stainless steel and other M-group workpiece materials. The Isoturn series geometry features an 80-degree trigon shape with a negative side clearance and a positive rake, producing efficient cutting action across roughing and medium machining passes. At 8.70 mm in length with a 0.5000-inch inscribed circle and a 3/64-inch corner radius, this insert fits standard WNMG-style toolholders.
This insert is intended for metalworking operations where stainless steel and similar ISO M-group materials are the primary workpiece. The TF chip breaker geometry handles roughing and medium machining chip loads, making it appropriate for production turning environments as well as job-shop applications. Licensed machinists, CNC operators, and toolroom technicians working in industrial manufacturing, aerospace fabrication, and precision machining will encounter this insert in high-volume turning programs. It is sold in a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces, packaged individually per piece.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for WNMG433-style carbide turning inserts used in Isoturn-series toolholders. ANSI insert code WNMG433 and ISO insert code WNMG080412 apply for cross-reference purposes.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket and tighten the clamp or pin to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque to ensure repeatable cutting geometry. Inspect the insert seat and shim for debris or damage before reinstalling to avoid premature edge failure.
