The ISCAR 5509135 is a replaceable drill tip designed for indexable modular drilling systems used in demanding metal-cutting applications. Manufactured from solid carbide in the IC908 grade with a submicron material grade, this tip delivers consistent cutting performance in stainless steel, titanium, and superalloy workpieces. The PVD-applied TiAlN coating protects the cutting edge under high-heat conditions common in difficult-to-machine materials. With a cutting diameter of 0.874 inches and a 140-degree drill point angle, the tip provides stable entry and chip control. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in precision manufacturing environments install this tip as part of an ISCAR ICM series modular drill body assembly.
This replaceable tip is built for production drilling in materials classified under ISO workpiece categories M (stainless steel, superalloys), S (titanium), P (steel), K (cast iron), and H (hard materials). Its T-Land style geometry combined with a thinned web point reduces thrust force during entry. The slow spiral, two-flute design promotes controlled chip evacuation in materials that tend to work-harden or produce stringy chips. It is suited for use in both vertical machining centers and horizontal CNC mills where modular drill systems are specified for tool change efficiency.
Designed for use with ISCAR ICM series modular drill bodies requiring insert seat size 22, ISO number ICM 222. Verify seat size and series designation against the holder specification before ordering.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel following standard modular drill assembly procedures. Power down and lock out the spindle before seating or removing the tip. Use only the manufacturer-recommended torx or hex key to engage the twist-lock holding mechanism — do not use impact tools. Confirm secure tip seating and runout is within machine and toolholder specification before resuming cuts.
