The ISCAR 5509130 is an ICP0882 series carbide replaceable tip drill insert finished with a TiAlN PVD coating and manufactured to the IC908 grade using submicron solid carbide. The insert seats in ICP series drill bodies at an insert seat size of 22 and delivers a 0.882-inch cutting diameter with a 140-degree included drill point angle. The two-flute, slow spiral, web-thinned geometry promotes chip evacuation and reduces thrust forces at the cutting tip. At 0.504 inches in height and 0.504 inches in overall projection, this tip is designed for precision drilling in production environments where tool life and repeatability are critical. Licensed machinists and tooling specialists install this insert in CNC drilling operations.
The ICP0882 IC908 tip is engineered primarily for drilling steel workpieces and carries secondary material ratings for stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials. The honed cutting edge and PVD TiAlN coating reduce heat buildup during high-speed drilling cycles. This insert is suited for machining centers and CNC lathes running production drilling programs where replaceable-tip geometry offers a cost advantage over solid-shank drills. It conforms to ISO 13399 tooling data standards, supporting CAM and tool management integration.
Designed as a replaceable tip insert for ISCAR ICP series drill bodies accepting insert seat size 22, as indicated by ISO number ICP 224.
Installation of replaceable tip drill inserts should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per applicable machine safety procedures. Use the manufacturer-specified torque wrench or key for the twist-holding insert seat to ensure proper seating without over-torquing the pocket. Inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before installing a new tip, as contamination can affect runout and tip concentricity. Always verify cutting parameters against the IC908 grade recommendations for the target workpiece material before resuming production cycles.
