The ISCAR 5509119 is a carbide replaceable tip drill from the ICM series, designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metalworking applications. The cutting tip is manufactured from submicron solid carbide in grade IC908 and coated with TiAlN via a PVD process, providing wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting edge. The drill features a 0.854 inch cutting diameter, a 140-degree included point angle with a thinned web geometry, and a slow spiral flute configuration. A T-Land style edge preparation supports controlled chip formation during entry and through-cut. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working with stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium are the primary users of this tooling.
This replaceable tip drill is suited for production drilling operations on CNC machining centers and turning centers where consistent hole diameter and tool life are priorities. Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (ISO material codes M and S). Secondary applications include steel, cast iron, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, K, and H). The ICM series tip interfaces with compatible ISCAR ICM drill bodies using a twist-lock holding method at insert seat size 21. The tool conforms to ISO 13399 standards for cutting tool data representation.
Designed for use with compatible ISCAR ICM series drill bodies at insert seat size 21, ISO number ICM 217. Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. Secondary workpiece materials include steel, cast iron, and hard materials.
Installation of this replaceable tip is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician on a powered-off spindle with the machine in a locked-out state per applicable LOTO procedures. The tip is secured using the twist-lock method into the ICM drill body. Verify seat cleanliness and tip seating before applying cutting forces. Do not exceed the cutting parameters specified in the ISCAR ICM series application data for the target workpiece material.
