The ISCAR 5509113 is a carbide replaceable tip drill from the ICP series, designed for high-productivity hole-making in steel and a range of secondary workpiece materials. The tip is manufactured from solid carbide with an IC908 submicron grade and a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, delivering thermal resistance and edge retention in demanding drilling applications. The 140-degree included angle and slow spiral flute geometry promote controlled chip evacuation and stable entry. With a cutting diameter of 0.858 inches and a functional length of 0.348 inches, this replaceable tip interfaces with a compatible ICP shank body. It is installed and serviced by machinists and tooling technicians in production or job-shop environments.
The 5509113 replaceable tip drill is suited for use in CNC machining centers and drilling operations targeting steel as the primary workpiece material. Secondary material compatibility includes stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials, covering a broad range of production drilling scenarios. The honed cutting edge and web-thinned point geometry reduce thrust force at entry. The ICP series follows ISO 13399 tooling data standards, supporting integration with tool management systems used in modern manufacturing facilities.
Designed for use with compatible ISCAR ICP series shank bodies accepting an insert seat size 21 and ISO number ICP 218 replaceable tips. Confirm shank body seat size before ordering.
Replaceable tip installation and removal should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the spindle fully stopped and machine locked out. Use the manufacturer-specified torx or assembly key for the twist-lock holding method to seat the tip properly in the shank body. Inspect the insert seat for debris or damage before installing a new tip. Do not use the tip in applications or materials beyond its stated grade and coating classification.
