The ISCAR 5509111 is a solid carbide replaceable tip drill designed for high-productivity drilling in metalworking and machining applications. Part of the ICP series, this drill tip carries a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, delivering heat and wear resistance suited to demanding cutting conditions. The tip measures 0.85 inches in cutting diameter with a 0.35-inch functional length and a 140-degree included drill point angle. A slow spiral, two-flute geometry with a web-thinned and honed cutting edge reduces entry thrust and promotes clean chip evacuation. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in production environments are the primary installers and users of this tooling.
This replaceable tip drill is intended for use in drilling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials. The IC908 submicron carbide grade and P-class insert geometry make it well suited to interrupted cuts, high-feed drilling, and applications where tool life consistency across a run matters. The ICP series tip interfaces with compatible ICP-series drill bodies using a twist-locking insert holding method. This tip complies with ISO 13399 tooling data standards, making it compatible with major CAM and tooling management software environments.
Designed as a replaceable tip for ICP-series drill bodies accepting insert seat size 21. Compatible primary workpiece material is steel (ISO P); secondary workpiece materials include stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO M, K, S, H). ISO number reference: ICP 216.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the drill body and tip seating surfaces are clean and free of chips before inserting the tip. Engage the twist-lock retention mechanism fully before initiating any cut. Follow machine tool and tooling manufacturer guidelines for spindle speeds, feed rates, and clamping torque - do not exceed the rated parameters for the drill body being used.
