The ISCAR 5509093 is a carbide replaceable tip drill in the ICM series, designed for precision hole-making in demanding materials. The tip is manufactured from solid carbide in the IC908 submicron grade and finished with a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process. It carries a 0.791-inch cutting diameter, a 140-degree drill point angle, and a slow spiral flute configuration with web thinning at the point. These design choices reduce cutting forces and improve chip evacuation when drilling stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. Licensed HVAC, plumbing, and metalworking trades that machine hard materials will recognize this as a purpose-built tool for high-wear applications.
This replaceable tip drill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses where repeatability and insert changeability reduce downtime. Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel, superalloy, and titanium (ISO material codes M and S). Secondary workpiece materials include steel, cast iron, and hard materials (ISO codes P, K, and H). The T-Land style geometry and web-thinned point are suited to interrupted cuts and entry into work-hardened surfaces common in aerospace, oil and gas, and industrial fabrication environments. The insert seat size is 20 and the ISO number is ICM 201, consistent with the ICM series platform.
Designed for use with ISCAR ICM series drill bodies accepting insert seat size 20. Compatible with ISO 13399-compliant tooling systems. Primary material compatibility: stainless steel, superalloy, and titanium (ISO M, S). Secondary material compatibility: steel, cast iron, and hard materials (ISO P, K, H).
Installation of replaceable tip drills should be performed by qualified machinists following the toolholder manufacturer's torque and seating procedures. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing the tip insert. Ensure the insert seat is clean and free of chips before seating the new tip to prevent run-out. Verify cutting parameters against the IC908 grade recommendations for the specific workpiece material before commencing the operation.
