The ISCAR 5508783 is a replaceable drill tip designed for indexable drill systems used in precision hole-making applications. Manufactured from solid carbide with ISCAR manufacturer grade IC908 submicron material, this tip features a PVD-applied TiAlN coating that supports extended tool life in demanding cutting conditions. The cutting diameter is 0.4130 inches (11.00 mm), with a drill point angle of 140 degrees and a standard point type. The tip uses a helical flute design with two flutes and a regular spiral, secured via a clamp-style insert holding method. It conforms to ISO 13399 standards and is identified by ISO number ICP 105-2M. Machinists and CNC operators in metal fabrication and production machining environments are the primary installers.
This drill tip is suited for hole making, chamfering, and drilling operations in steel as the primary workpiece material. It is also rated for secondary workpiece materials including stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, covering ISO material codes P, M, K, S, and H. Typical applications include production drilling on CNC machining centers and gundrilling setups where replaceable tip systems reduce downtime versus regrinding solid drills. The ICP-2M series designation governs the insert seat size 10 interface and overall system fitment.
Designed for use in ISCAR ICP-2M series indexable drill bodies requiring insert seat size 10. Verify drill body model and seat size before ordering. No additional compatible model numbers were specified in the available product data.
Installation of replaceable drill tips should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is removed from the spindle or safely fixtured before seating or unseating the tip. Use the correct ISCAR torque key for the clamp screw — do not use general hex drivers, as overtorquing or undertorquing the clamp will affect seating accuracy and tip retention. Inspect the insert pocket and clamp for chips or wear before installing a new tip.
