The ISCAR 5508775 is a solid carbide replaceable tip drill designed for precision hole-making in demanding machining environments. Part of the ICP-2M series, this insert-style drill tip accepts a twist-lock holding method and is manufactured from submicron-grade solid carbide with an IC908 manufacturer grade. A PVD-applied TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in high-speed drilling operations. The double-margin point geometry and 140-degree included angle support accurate entry and exit, while the slow spiral flute design aids chip evacuation in tougher materials. At 0.472 inches cutting diameter and 0.190 inches functional length, this tip fits ICP-2M series drill bodies and is suited for use by machinists and tooling professionals in production environments.
This replaceable tip is rated primarily for steel (ISO material code P) and is also applicable across stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO codes M, K, S, and H). The double-margin style and slow spiral flute configuration make it well-suited for controlled drilling in these materials where surface finish and hole quality are critical. It is a package quantity of 1 tip per unit and conforms to ISO 13399 tooling data standards. Typical applications include production drilling on CNC machining centers where replaceable-tip drill systems are used to reduce downtime without sacrificing positional accuracy.
Designed for use with ICP-2M series replaceable-tip drill bodies accepting a size 12 insert seat. ISO number ICP 120-2M. Compatible primary workpiece material is steel; secondary materials include stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials per ISO classification codes M, K, S, and H.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with replaceable-tip drill systems. Ensure the drill body is removed from the spindle and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing the tip. Seat the replaceable tip fully into the ICP-2M body using the twist-lock method and verify positive engagement before returning the tool to service. Follow the drill body manufacturer guidelines for torque and tip seating confirmation.
