The ISCAR 5508613 is a carbide replaceable tip drill in the ICM series, designed for precision drilling in demanding materials including stainless steel, titanium, and superalloys. The drill tip features a solid carbide construction in manufacturer grade IC908 with a submicron material grade, providing durability and edge retention under high-stress cutting conditions. A TiAlN coating applied via PVD process improves heat resistance and extends tool life. The 140-degree included angle with a web-thinned, thinned point geometry reduces entry force and improves centering. With a 0.78-inch cutting diameter and slow spiral, T-Land flute configuration, this drill is suited to work in materials that challenge standard tooling. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this tip as part of a modular drill body system.
The ICM0780 tip is intended for use in machining environments where stainless steel, superalloy, and titanium components are drilled regularly, such as aerospace, medical device, and heavy industrial manufacturing. Secondary workpiece material compatibility includes steel, cast iron, and hard materials. The replaceable tip design allows the cutting head to be swapped out without replacing the entire drill body, reducing tooling cost and downtime in production settings. The twist-held insert seat and ISO 13399 compliance support integration into standard tooling documentation and presetter systems.
Designed for use with ICM series modular drill bodies accepting an insert seat size 19 and ISO number ICM 198. Compatible with primary workpiece materials stainless steel, superalloy, and titanium (ISO material codes M and S), and secondary workpiece materials steel, cast iron, and hard material (ISO material codes P, K, and H).
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the tool assembly secured before seating or removing the replaceable tip. Use the appropriate torx or locking key as specified by the drill body manufacturer to engage the twist-hold mechanism. Do not exceed the recommended cutting parameters for the grade and coating specified for the target workpiece material.
