The ISCAR 5508606 is a solid carbide replaceable tip drill insert from the ICP series, designed for precision hole-making in metal-cutting applications. The ICP0756 tip carries a 0.756 inch cutting diameter and is manufactured to Manufacturer Grade IC908, a submicron carbide substrate coated with TiAlN via a PVD process. The 140-degree drill point angle with a thinned point and honed cutting edge reduces entry forces and improves chip evacuation. At 11 mm (0.433 inches) in height and a functional length of 0.318 inches, this tip seats into ISO-compatible ICP 192 insert seat size 19 bodies. Installation and use are supported by licensed machinists and CNC operators working in production or job-shop environments.
This replaceable tip is intended for drilling operations in steel as its primary workpiece material. Secondary workpiece materials include stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys and titanium, and hard materials, covering ISO material classification codes P, M, K, S, and H. The slow spiral, two-flute geometry suits short-hole drilling where rigidity and surface finish matter. The insert is sold individually per package with a minimum order quantity of 2 units, making it suitable for maintaining matched-pair inventory on twin-spindle setups or keeping a spare on hand during production runs.
Designed as an OEM-style replaceable tip for ISCAR ICP series drill bodies accepting ISO 192 seat size 19 inserts, as defined under ISO 13399. Confirm body compatibility against the ICP series seat size before ordering.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the spindle fully stopped and the machine locked out per site LOTO procedures. Seat the tip with the specified torque wrench per the ISCAR body manufacturer guidelines — do not use impact tools or improvised drivers. Inspect the seating surface and clamping threads for chips or damage before each insert change. Coolant-through drilling is not supported by this insert; ensure chip evacuation is managed through spindle speed, feed rate, and peck cycle selection.
