The ISCAR 5508604 is the ICM0732 replaceable tip drill insert in grade IC908, designed for precision drilling in demanding materials including stainless steel, titanium, and superalloys. This solid carbide tip features a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, a 140-degree included angle, and a slow spiral, two-flute geometry with web thinning for improved chip evacuation and reduced thrust. The T-Land style cutting edge and submicron carbide substrate make this insert well-suited for tight-tolerance hole-making in production environments. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians install this tip into compatible ICM-series drill bodies as a cost-effective alternative to full drill replacement.
The ICM0732 IC908 tip is intended for use in rotating drilling applications on CNC machining centers and turning centers. Primary workpiece materials include stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (ISO material codes M and S). Secondary workpiece material compatibility extends to steel, cast iron, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, K, and H). The ICM series replaceable tip system allows fast tip changes without removing the drill body from the spindle, reducing downtime in high-volume drilling operations. This insert is identified under ISO 13399 standards as ISO number ICM 186.
Designed for use with ISCAR ICM-series replaceable tip drill bodies accepting an insert seat size 18. Compatible primary workpiece materials are stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium; secondary materials include steel, cast iron, and hard materials. ISO designation ICM 186 per ISO 13399.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle before replacing the tip insert. Use the manufacturer-recommended torx or hex key to seat the twist-lock insert securely in the drill body; do not overtighten. Verify tip seating and runout before resuming cutting operations.
