The ISCAR 5508426 is a carbide replaceable tip drill insert from the ICP series, designed for high-performance drilling in metalworking applications. The tip carries an IC908 submicron carbide grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, delivering heat and wear resistance in demanding cutting environments. The cutting diameter is 0.575 inches, the included point angle is 140 degrees, and the honed cutting edge geometry reduces entry burr and improves hole entry stability. The slow spiral flute design promotes chip evacuation in tougher alloys. This insert is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators running production drilling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials.
The ICP0575 tip seats into compatible ICP series drill bodies using a twist-lock holding method with an insert seat size of 14. It is suited for drilling in both ISO P and ISO M, K, S, and H workpiece material groups, covering a wide range of production machining scenarios. The web-thinned point reduces thrust force at drill entry, making it effective on CNC machining centers and turning centers in both roughing and finish-bore drilling contexts. The 140-degree point angle suits flat-bottom or through-hole applications in medium to hard stock.
Designed for use with compatible ISCAR ICP series replaceable tip drill bodies accepting insert seat size 14 and ISO number ICP 146. Verify body compatibility with the ICP series product family before ordering.
Installation and replacement of carbide drill tips should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine powered down and locked out per facility LOTO procedures. Use the recommended torque driver or wrench specified for the ICP body to seat the tip; do not overtighten by hand. Inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before seating a new tip, as contamination will affect runout and tip life. Follow the cutting data recommendations provided by ISCAR for the IC908 grade when setting feed and speed parameters.
