The ISCAR 5508403 is a solid carbide replaceable tip drill insert from the ICP series, designed for high-performance drilling in metalworking applications. This tip carries a TiAlN PVD coating and a honed cutting edge finish applied to IC908 submicron carbide grade, delivering wear resistance and edge stability in demanding cutting conditions. The 140-degree included angle with a thinned web point reduces thrust forces and improves chip evacuation at entry. With a cutting diameter of 0.547 inches and a functional length of 0.216 inches, this insert is a direct-swap replacement tip for compatible ICP-series modular drill bodies. Installation is performed by machinists and tooling technicians on CNC machining centers and drill presses.

This replaceable tip is rated primarily for steel workpieces (ISO material code P) and is also suited for stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO codes M, K, S, and H). It fits into ICP insert seat size 13 drill bodies. The slow-spiral flute design and twist insert-holding method make it appropriate for short-hole drilling operations where tool rigidity and accurate entry are priorities. Installation Notes
