The ISCAR 5508399 is a replaceable drill tip designed for use with compatible indexable drill bodies in metal-cutting operations. Manufactured from solid carbide in the IC908 submicron grade, this tip delivers consistent cutting performance in demanding materials. The 17/32 inch (0.5310 inch) cutting diameter and 140-degree included point angle with a thinned web geometry help reduce thrust forces during entry and improve hole accuracy. A PVD-applied TiAlN coating resists heat buildup and extends tool life in interrupted and continuous cuts. The honed cutting edge provides controlled chip formation. Licensed HVAC techs, machinists, and toolroom professionals handling precision drilling applications will find this tip suited to high-productivity drilling cycles.
This drill tip is engineered for primary use in steel and is also rated for secondary workpiece materials including stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The ICP series tip seats into compatible insert seat size 13 drill bodies. With a slow spiral flute type and a functional length of 0.2190 inches, it is well suited to shallow-entry and spot-drilling operations in production environments. Typical applications include component drilling on machining centers and CNC drill presses handling ferrous and difficult-to-machine alloy workpieces.
Designed for use with ICP series indexable drill bodies accepting insert seat size 13. Compatible with the ISO number ICP 135 drill body designation. Suitable for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard material workpieces as defined by ISO material codes P, M, K, S, and H.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine powered down and the spindle locked before tip exchange. Use the correct torque wrench and manufacturer-specified seating tool to secure the replaceable tip into the drill body without over-torquing the twist-lock interface. Inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before seating the new tip. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine tool manufacturer guidelines for indexable drill tip replacement.
