The ISCAR 5508377 is a replaceable drill tip designed for use with compatible modular drill bodies in the ICM series. Manufactured from solid carbide with a submicron material grade and coated with TiAlN via a PVD coating process, this tip delivers the wear resistance and edge integrity required when drilling demanding workpiece materials. The cutting diameter measures 0.421 inches, with a functional length of 0.180 inches and an overall projection of 0.244 inches. The 140-degree drill point angle and web-thinned, T-Land geometry reduce entry forces and improve chip evacuation in difficult-to-machine alloys. It meets ISO 13399 standards and carries manufacturer grade IC908.
This drill tip is intended for machining stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium as its primary workpiece materials, with secondary suitability for steel, cast iron, and hard materials. It is used in production and maintenance machining environments where modular drill systems are preferred for cost efficiency and repeatability. The two-flute slow spiral design and thinned point promote stable entry and chip flow in tough materials. Installation requires a compatible ICM series insert seat size 10 drill body. The part is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 2 units.
Designed for use with ISCAR ICM series modular drill bodies requiring insert seat size 10. ISO number ICM 107. Compatible primary workpiece materials include stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (ISO material codes M and S). Secondary compatible materials include steel, cast iron, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, K, and H).
Installation and removal of replaceable drill tips should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician using the appropriate ISCAR torque key or wrench specified for the ICM series drill body. Ensure the drill body is removed from the spindle and the machine is fully de-energized before changing tips. Inspect the insert seat and tip seating surfaces for chips, debris, or damage before assembly. Do not use damaged or worn tips, as improper seating can cause runout and catastrophic tool failure during operation.
