The ISCAR 5508371 is a solid carbide replaceable tip drill insert designed for precision hole-making in metalworking applications. Carrying the IC908 manufacturer grade and a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, this insert delivers wear resistance and thermal stability in demanding cutting environments. It features a 140-degree included angle with a thinned web point and a slow spiral flute geometry. The cutting diameter is 0.409 inches with a functional length of 0.182 inches and an overall height of 0.244 inches. It weighs 0.04 pounds. Installation is performed by machining technicians in CNC drilling operations.
This replaceable tip insert fits the ICP Series drill body platform, specifically the ICP 104 ISO number designation with an insert seat size of 10. It is engineered primarily for steel workpieces (ISO material code P) and is also rated for secondary applications in stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes M, K, S, and H). Typical use is in production drilling on CNC machining centers where repeatable hole quality and quick tip replacement without removing the drill body are required. The insert conforms to ISO 13399 cutting tool data standards.
Designed as a replaceable tip insert for ISCAR ICP Series drill bodies with an insert seat size of 10, conforming to ISO number ICP 104. Compatible primary workpiece material is steel; secondary workpiece materials include stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys and titanium, and hard materials per ISO material codes M, K, S, and H.
Installation is performed by a qualified machining technician or toolroom professional. Power down and lock out the spindle before removing or seating the tip insert. Use the correct ISCAR torx or clamping key specified for the ICP Series body to secure the insert; do not substitute tools that may damage the insert seat.
