The ISCAR 5508348 is a solid carbide replaceable drill tip designed for high-performance drilling in demanding workpiece materials. Built to the ICM series platform, this tip features a 0.354-inch cutting diameter and a 140-degree included drill point angle with a thinned point geometry for improved centering and reduced thrust. The PVD-applied TiAlN coating and IC908 submicron carbide grade deliver heat resistance and edge retention when cutting stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. The T-Land style geometry and slow spiral flute design help manage chip evacuation in these difficult-to-machine materials. Qualified CNC machinists and tooling technicians install this tip as part of the ISCAR replaceable-tip drill system.
This drill tip is suited for precision drilling operations in aerospace, medical, and industrial manufacturing environments where stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium are common workpiece materials. Secondary workpiece materials include steel, cast iron, and hard materials, making this tip useful across a broad range of production drilling applications. It mounts into the ICM series modular drill body at insert seat size 9 and uses a twist holding method for secure seating during operation.
Designed for use with ISCAR ICM series modular drill bodies at insert seat size 9, ISO number ICM 090. Refer to ISCAR tooling documentation to confirm body compatibility before ordering.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with indexable and replaceable-tip drill systems. Ensure the drill body is removed from the spindle and the machine is powered down before seating or removing the tip. Use the correct torque wrench and ISCAR-specified installation tool for the twist-lock interface — do not use improvised tools, as improper seating can result in tip ejection or body damage during operation. Inspect the insert seat for chips or contamination before each tip change.
