The ISCAR 5507974 is a solid carbide replaceable tip drill designed for precision drilling in demanding metal-cutting applications. Built to ICP series geometry with a 0.665-inch cutting diameter and a 140-degree drill point angle, this insert delivers consistent entry geometry and reduced thrust on both ferrous and hard materials. The TiAlN coating is applied via PVD process, providing thermal resistance and extended tool life in steel and stainless steel applications. The honed cutting edge and web-thinned point reduce cutting forces at drill entry. This tip is installed and serviced by machining professionals and tool-and-die technicians operating CNC and manual drilling equipment.
This replaceable tip is suited for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials, covering ISO material codes P, M, K, S, and H. It is intended for production drilling operations where consistent hole quality and rapid tip changeover are priorities. The slow spiral flute geometry and thinned web point make it effective in interrupted cuts and in materials that work-harden. The ICP series tip seats into compatible ICP series drill bodies using the twist insert-holding method with an ISO 13399-compliant interface.
Designed for use with ICP series replaceable tip drill bodies that accept insert seat size 16. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials per ISO material grade classifications P, M, K, S, and H.
Replaceable carbide drill tips must be seated and secured in the drill body before spindle activation. Always power down and lock out the machine before changing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or insert key specified for the ICP series body to achieve proper clamping torque without over-tightening the carbide tip. Inspect the insert seat for chips or contamination before each tip installation to ensure accurate seating and runout performance.
