The ISCAR 5507832 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CNMG432TF geometry, designed for precision external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Featuring a CVD-applied TiCN plus Al2O3 multilayer coating in the IC8150 grade, this insert delivers thermal resistance and wear protection suited to continuous and interrupted steel cutting. The 80-degree diamond shape (insert shape code C) provides a strong cutting edge, while the TF chip breaker geometry promotes positive rake cutting action and effective chip control. Licensed trade machinists and CNC operators install and index this insert as part of the Isoturn series tooling system.
This insert is engineered for turning applications where the primary workpiece material is steel (ISO material code P) and the secondary workpiece material is cast iron (ISO material code K). It is suited for moderate to aggressive depth-of-cut passes up to 4.00 millimeters on ferrous workpieces in both roughing and semi-finishing contexts. The clamp-and-pin holding method is compatible with standard CNMG-style toolholders used across a wide range of production turning setups in job shop and production floor environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit insert for standard CNMG432 toolholders compatible with the Isoturn series. Suitable for use with clamp-and-pin style CNMG insert seats. Verify toolholder insert pocket geometry and clamping style before installation.
Installation and indexing of turning inserts should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine powered down and the spindle fully stopped. Use the appropriate torque wrench and insert key specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the clamp or pin securely without overtightening. Inspect the insert pocket for debris, damage, or wear before seating each new insert. Follow all applicable shop safety procedures and machine guarding requirements during toolchange operations.
