The ISCAR 5507804 is a CNMG433GN-geometry solid carbide turning insert in the IC8250 manufacturer grade, designed for external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert features a CVD-applied TiCN and Al2O3 multilayer coating that provides wear resistance and thermal protection during interrupted and continuous cuts. It measures 12.90 mm (0.508 inches) in length with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle and a 3/64-inch corner radius. The 80-degree diamond shape (CNMG, Insert Shape Code C) with a neutral clearance angle (Code N) and GN chip breaker geometry makes this insert suited for medium to finishing passes in steel and stainless steel applications. Installed by machinists and CNC operators in production turning environments.
This insert is part of the ISCAR Isoturn series and is intended for turning operations on ferrous workpiece materials. The primary workpiece material classification is P (steel), with secondary suitability for M-grade materials (stainless steel). It is compatible with standard CNMG 433 toolholders using clamp and pin holding methods. Typical applications include medium-depth finishing passes where controlled chip breaking and surface finish consistency are priorities. The GN chip breaker geometry is optimized for stable chip control across a range of feed rates and depths of cut up to 5.00 mm (0.197 inches).
Designed as a replacement for CNMG 433 geometry inserts in standard toolholders that accept clamp and pin holding. Compatible with primary workpiece material code P (steel) and secondary code M (stainless steel) as specified in the supplier data. Conforms to ISO 13399 tooling interface standards.
This insert is installed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket and verify the clamp and pin are properly engaged before resuming operation. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut specification for the grade and geometry selected.
