The ISCAR 5507755 is a WNMG432TF IC8250 grade solid carbide turning insert from the Isoturn series, designed for CNC and manual lathe operations in metalworking environments. The insert features an 80-degree trigon (W) shape with a neutral 0-degree relief angle and a positive rake geometry, making it suitable for general-purpose external and internal turning. The IC8250 grade substrate is coated via CVD with TiCN and Al2O3 layers, delivering heat resistance and wear protection during interrupted and continuous cuts. With a 0.5-inch inscribed circle and a 0.0315-inch corner radius, this insert is installed and changed by qualified machinists and CNC tooling technicians.
This insert is intended for turning ferrous workpiece materials, with a primary workpiece material designation of P (steel) and a secondary designation of M (stainless steel). It fits standard WNMG-style toolholders using clamp or pin holding methods. Typical applications include finishing and semi-finishing passes on steel and stainless steel components in production machining environments, both in job shops and manufacturing facilities. The TF chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation across a range of feed rates and depths of cut up to 0.157 inches.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production insert for WNMG432-style toolholders using clamp or pin holding methods, as specified in the Isoturn series. Compatible with toolholders accepting a 0.5-inch inscribed circle WNMG insert with a 0.203-inch hole diameter.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer - do not overtighten the clamp screw, as this can fracture the carbide substrate. Verify insert seating and holder cleanliness before resuming cuts.
