The ISCAR 5507752 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CNMG432-TF IC830 designation, designed for use on CNC lathes and turning centers in production and job-shop environments. It carries a PVD-applied AlTiN and TiN dual coating over a solid carbide substrate, targeting wear resistance and thermal stability across a range of workpiece materials. The insert measures 12.9 mm (0.508 inches) in length with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch corner radius. The TF chip breaker geometry produces a positive rake angle suited to controlled chip formation. Installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians, this insert seats in compatible CNMG-style toolholders and is rated for double-end use.
This insert is intended for turning, facing, and general metal removal operations on materials classified under ISO workpiece codes M (stainless steel), P (carbon and alloy steel), and S (heat-resistant superalloys and titanium). The Isoturn series designation places it in ISCAR's general-purpose turning line. The positive rake and TF chip breaker geometry make it well suited to medium-depth finishing and semi-finishing passes. Maximum depth of cut is 3.99 mm (0.157 inches). The insert is applicable in both light and moderate production turning scenarios where consistent edge life and chip control are priorities.
Designed for use in CNMG-style turning toolholders that accept a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, 3/16-inch thick diamond insert with an N clearance code and M tolerance. Compatible with ISO workpiece material groups M, P, and S per ISO 13399 classification. Multi-use application includes facing operations.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key as specified by the toolholder manufacturer when seating the clamp or pin — do not overtighten by hand. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before installing a new edge to ensure proper insert seating and runout control.
