The ISCAR 5507591 is a solid carbide turning insert in the TPMT2-2 geometry, designed for precision finish turning on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a CVD-applied dual-layer coating of TiCN and Al2O3, combining abrasion resistance with thermal stability. The triangular insert shape provides a 60-degree included angle and a positive side clearance for clean, low-force cutting action. With a 0.031-inch corner radius and an 11 mm insert length, this insert is optimized for light to moderate depth-of-cut finishing passes. It is held in place by a screw-clamp system and conforms to ISO 13399 standards. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops or production environments are the primary installers.

This insert is suited for finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, and hardened materials. The IC9250 grade is engineered to deliver high wear resistance when cutting steel (P-class) and stainless steel (M-class), and high wear resistance when machining hardened materials (H-class). Installation Notes
