The ISCAR 5507567 is a TNMG331GN-style solid carbide turning insert in the IC428 manufacturer grade, designed for precision single-point turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert features a CVD-applied TiC and Al2O3 multilayer coating that provides thermal stability and wear resistance during interrupted and continuous cuts. With a 60-degree triangular geometry, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/64-inch corner radius, this insert is suited for medium to roughing passes in production turning. It is installed and indexed by licensed machinists and CNC operators working to close tolerances in metalworking shops.
This insert is engineered for turning cast iron and steel workpieces, making it a fit for job shops and production facilities running ferrous materials. The GN chip breaker geometry manages chip flow effectively across a range of feed rates and depths of cut. It is rated for a maximum depth of cut of 3.00 mm (0.1181 inches). The Isoturn series designation and ISO 13399 compliance make it compatible with toolholders that accept TNMG-style inserts with clamp and pin holding methods. Typical applications include shaft turning, facing, and contour operations on steel and cast iron components.
Designed for use in TNMG-style toolholders that accept clamp and pin holding methods. Suitable for primary workpiece materials designated H (cast iron) and P (steel) under ISO material codes. Part of the ISCAR Isoturn series.
Insert indexing and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine in a full stop, de-energized, and locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Use the correct torque wrench and clamping screw for the toolholder to ensure proper seating. Inspect the insert pocket for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Never run an insert beyond visible wear limits, as chipping can damage the workpiece or toolholder.
