The ISCAR 5507015 is a CCMT-style solid carbide turning insert from the Isoturn series, designed for precision external and internal turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. The insert features a TiAlN and TiN PVD coating in grade IC907, which provides elevated wear resistance and thermal stability across a range of workpiece materials. The 80-degree diamond shape (Insert Shape Code C) delivers a strong cutting edge geometry, while the PF chip breaker promotes positive-rake cutting action with efficient chip evacuation. The 3/8-inch (0.3752 inch) inscribed circle and 0.008-inch corner radius suit medium-duty finishing and semi-finishing passes.
This insert is engineered for turning applications involving hard materials, stainless steels, high-temperature alloys, and general steel workpieces, consistent with primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S per ISO classification. The Isoturn series is commonly used in shop-floor turning programs where consistent grade performance and dimensional repeatability are required. The screw-clamping holding method is compatible with standard CCMT toolholders. Each insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces.
Compatible with CCMT-style turning toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch inscribed circle insert with screw-clamp holding. Suited for primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S per ISO classification, covering steel, stainless, cast iron, non-ferrous, and high-temperature alloy applications.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key to torque the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified value without over-tightening, which can crack the carbide. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper seating and dimensional accuracy.
