The ISCAR 5506934 is a solid carbide turning insert carrying the manufacturer designation LNMX150608RHT in the IC9250 grade. It features a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, which provides wear resistance and thermal stability during interrupted and continuous turning operations. The insert measures 15 mm in length with a 0.0315-inch corner radius and a 90-degree rectangular shape. The HT chip breaker geometry promotes positive rake cutting action, reducing cutting forces and improving chip control. This insert is intended for use by machinists and tooling technicians on CNC and conventional lathes.
The LNMX150608RHT is designed for right-hand turning operations and belongs to the Heliturn series. It is suited for machining steel and stainless steel workpieces, classified under ISO material groups P and M. The maximum depth of cut is 6.00 mm (0.2360 inches). The IC9250 grade and CVD coating make it appropriate for medium to semi-finish turning applications where tool life and surface finish consistency are priorities. It is held in the toolholder by a screw clamping method.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit insert for Heliturn series toolholders accepting LNMX-style inserts with a screw-lock clamping system. Tolerance code M and clearance code N apply. Material grade classifications C5, C6, and C7 indicate suitability across a range of steel and stainless steel turning applications.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket before tightening the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque. Inspect the pocket and screw threads for chips or damage before seating a new insert to ensure accurate indexing and safe operation.
