The ISCAR 5506713 is a solid carbide replaceable drill tip designed for precision hole making and drilling operations in demanding materials. Carrying the IC908 submicron carbide grade and a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, this tip delivers wear resistance and edge retention in high-performance cutting environments. It features a 140-degree point angle, a standard point type, and two helical flutes with web thinning to reduce thrust and improve chip evacuation. The tip measures 0.9250 inches (24.00 mm) in cutting diameter and seats into an ICM series drill body at seat size 23. It is installed by machining professionals and toolroom technicians working with modular drill systems.
This replaceable tip is engineered primarily for cutting stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, with secondary suitability for steel, cast iron, and hard materials. It fits the ICM modular drill platform and is held in place via a clamp-style insert holding method. Typical applications include production drilling in aerospace, energy, and precision manufacturing environments where consistent hole quality and tool life are critical. The tip carries ISO number ICM 235 and conforms to ISO 13399 tooling standards.
Designed for use with ICM series modular drill bodies at insert seat size 23. Compatible primary workpiece materials are stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (ISO material codes M and S). Secondary compatible workpiece materials include steel, cast iron, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, K, and H).
Installation of replaceable drill tips should be performed by qualified machining or toolroom personnel following the drill body manufacturer's assembly procedure. Ensure the drill body seat is clean and free of chips or debris before seating the tip. Use the appropriate torque tool specified by the drill body manufacturer for the clamp fastener — do not overtighten or use improvised tools. Inspect the seating interface for proper engagement before returning the assembly to service.
