The ISCAR 5506665 is a solid carbide replaceable tip drill from the ICP series, designed for high-productivity hole-making in steel and a range of demanding workpiece materials. The tip measures 1.043 inches (26.49 mm) in cutting diameter and seats into a compatible ICP drill body using a twist-style insert holding method. Manufactured in the IC908 grade using a submicron carbide substrate, the tip is coated with TiAlN via a PVD process, providing heat and wear resistance in metal-cutting applications. A 140-degree included angle with a web-thinned, honed cutting edge improves centering and reduces thrust. Two slow-spiral flutes support chip evacuation. This tip is installed by machining professionals, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators.
This replaceable tip drill is intended for use in drilling applications where steel is the primary workpiece material. Secondary workpiece materials include stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials, corresponding to ISO material codes P, M, K, S, and H. The ICP series architecture allows the carbide tip to be swapped at the machine without replacing the full drill body, reducing tooling cost per hole. Typical install scenarios include CNC machining centers and manual drilling operations requiring consistent hole geometry in production environments.
Designed as a replaceable tip for use with compatible ICP series drill bodies accepting an insert seat size 26 and ISO number ICP 265. Suitable for primary workpiece material code P (steel) and secondary codes M, K, S, and H as specified by the manufacturer.
This tip is installed and replaced by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Before tip replacement, power down the machine and follow lockout/tagout procedures per applicable shop safety standards. Use the manufacturer-specified torque tool or wrench for the twist-lock seat to ensure proper tip seating. Inspect the drill body seat for wear or debris before installing a new tip, and do not force the tip if resistance is encountered during engagement.
