The ISCAR 5506647 is a carbide replaceable tip drill insert designated ICP0807, manufactured to the IC908 grade using submicron solid carbide with a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process. The insert fits into the ICP series drill body system and delivers a cutting diameter of 0.807 inches. The 140-degree included angle with a thinned point geometry reduces entry force and improves chip flow at the cutting tip. This is a two-flute slow spiral design with a honed cutting edge and web-thinned point, built for precision hole-making in metalworking and machining environments. Machinists and tool-crib technicians handle installation and changeover.
This replaceable tip is designed for drilling operations in steel as its primary workpiece material. Secondary workpiece materials include stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials, covering material codes P, M, K, S, and H per ISO classification. Typical applications include production drilling in CNC machining centers and drill presses where quick tip changeover and consistent hole quality are required. The insert does not include coolant-through capability, so external coolant or dry cutting strategies apply depending on the workpiece material.
Designed as an OEM-style replaceable tip insert for the ISCAR ICP series drill body system, insert seat size 20, ISO number ICP 205. Confirm body series and seat size before ordering.
Replaceable tip drill inserts of this type are installed and changed by machinists or tooling technicians using the torque and seating procedures specified in the drill body manufacturer documentation. Power down or lock out the spindle before removing or seating the tip. Verify the insert seat is clean and free of chips before installation to ensure proper seating and runout. Do not exceed the recommended cutting parameters for the workpiece material grade being machined.
