The ISCAR 5503798 is a solid carbide, uncoated turning insert in the WNMG 432-TF geometry, part of the Isoturn series. It features an 80-degree trigon (W-shape) insert profile with a positive rake angle and a neutral 0-degree relief angle (clearance code N, tolerance code M). The inscribed circle measures 0.5000 inches and the corner radius is 0.0315 inches (1/32 inch). Insert length is 8.70 mm (0.3425 inches) and insert thickness is 0.1874 inches. The TF chip breaker geometry is designed for light-to-medium turning operations across a broad range of workpiece materials. Holding method is clamp and pin. This insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10.
The WNMG 432-TF IC20 insert is rated for universal primary workpiece material compatibility, covering ISO material groups H, K, M, N, and S. It is suited for external turning applications on CNC lathes and turning centers where a positive-rake insert with controlled chip breaking is required. The IC20 substrate grade corresponds to material grades C2 and C3, making it applicable across cast iron, non-ferrous, stainless, and heat-resistant alloy turning at appropriate cutting parameters. It is a standard replacement insert for Isoturn toolholders that accept WNMG 432 geometry inserts.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for Isoturn series toolholders accepting WNMG 432 insert geometry with clamp-and-pin holding. Compatible with ISO material groups H, K, M, N, and S per manufacturer designation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque tool for the clamping screw to avoid insert or pocket damage — refer to the toolholder manufacturer specifications for torque values. Inspect the insert seat and chip pocket for debris before seating a new insert.
