The ISCAR 4501985 is an ER16 collet chuck designed for precision toolholding in CNC machining centers, milling machines, and similar rotating-spindle equipment. It accepts ER16 collets with a clamping range of 0.5 mm to 10 mm (0.0197 to 0.3937 inches), making it suitable for a wide range of small-diameter cutting tools and drill bits. The chuck features a straight shank with a 16 mm (0.6299 inch) diameter, an overall length of 71 mm (2.7953 inches), and a projection of 36 mm (1.4184 inches). Total indicator runout (TIR) is held to 0.005 mm (0.0002 inches), supporting tight-tolerance work. Through-spindle coolant delivery is built in, directing coolant directly to the cutting zone.
This collet chuck is suited for high-speed machining applications in both production and job-shop environments where tool runout and coolant delivery are critical. The ER16 collet system is a widely adopted standard for light-to-medium milling, drilling, reaming, and tapping operations. The straight shank profile allows installation in a broad range of spindle interfaces that accept straight-shank toolholders. Through-coolant capability makes it a practical choice wherever chip evacuation and heat management are priorities in deep-hole drilling or extended-flute milling.
Designed for use with ER16 series collets in machine tool spindles that accept 16 mm straight-shank toolholders. Collets are not included and must be sourced separately to match the specific tool shank diameter being held.
Installation and removal should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before mounting or removing the toolholder. Ensure the spindle bore and shank are clean and free of chips or burrs before seating the chuck. Use the appropriate ER16 collet wrench and spanner to torque the collet nut; do not use improvised tools that could damage the collet nut or chuck body.
