The ISCAR 3606511 is a left-hand MCLN-style indexable turning toolholder from the Isoturn series, designed for external turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. It features a negative rake angle of -6 degrees and a 5-degree lead angle, providing stable, controlled cutting action on a wide range of workpiece materials. The 3/4 inch by 3/4 inch square shank and 4.5-inch overall length suit standard turning tool posts. Insert retention is handled by a clamp and pin system, which holds CN..43.. series inserts securely during interrupted or continuous cuts. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this toolholder in production and job-shop turning applications.
This toolholder is suited for external turning in both production environments and job-shop settings. It accepts CN..43.. inserts, with a compatible insert size code of CNMG431-GN and a 1/2-inch insert inscribed circle. The left-hand cutting direction makes it appropriate for operations running toward the tailstock or where left-hand clearance is required. It is a single-use configuration with no coolant-through capability, and is not designated as a multi-use tool. The toolholder conforms to ISO 13399 standards for cutting tool data representation.
Accepts CN..43.. series inserts; compatible insert size code CNMG431-GN with a 1/2-inch (0.5000 inch) inscribed circle. Designed for use in standard turning tool posts that accommodate a 3/4 inch square shank.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. De-energize and lock out the machine before mounting or removing the toolholder, and confirm the tool post bore and clamping screws are clean and free of chips. Set tool center height according to the machine manufacturer specification before beginning cuts. Follow the insert manufacturer guidelines for torque on the clamping screw to avoid insert seat damage.
