The ISCAR 3601964 is a right-hand SCLC-style indexable turning toolholder designed for precision external turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. It features a 3/8 inch by 3/8 inch square shank and an overall length of 2.5 inches, making it well-suited for compact tool setups. The toolholder uses a screw-clamping method to secure CC.T 2 inserts, providing consistent insert location and repeatable cutting geometry. With a neutral rake angle of 0 degrees and a right-hand cutting direction, it delivers stable material removal across a range of workpiece materials. This holder is part of the ISCAR Isoturn series and is installed by machinists and CNC lathe operators in production and job-shop environments.
The ISCAR 3601964 is designed for turning applications where a compact square-shank toolholder is required. The 3/8 inch shank suits smaller lathes and toolposts with correspondingly sized pockets. The head length of 0.5 inches and a back-of-bar to cutting edge dimension of 0.5 inches allow for accurate tool height setting. Compatible insert size code is CCMT2-1-WG. This holder does not include coolant-through capability, so it is intended for use with external coolant delivery or dry cutting setups. It is a single-purpose, right-hand cutting tool and is not configured for multi-use or left-hand operation.
Accepts CC.T 2 inserts with compatible insert size code CCMT2-1-WG. Designed for use in lathe toolposts or turrets that accept a 3/8 inch by 3/8 inch square-shank toolholder.
Installation is performed by machinists using standard lathe toolpost hardware rated for a 3/8 inch square shank. Power down and lock out the lathe spindle before changing inserts or repositioning the toolholder. Ensure insert seating surfaces and the clamp screw are free of chips and debris before torquing the clamping screw. Follow the machine tool manufacturer's guidelines for tool overhang and shank clamping length to maintain cutting stability.
