The ISCAR 3600663 is a right-hand MVJN-style indexable turning toolholder built for external turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. Designed around a 0.75 inch by 0.75 inch square shank and an overall length of 6.0 inches, it accepts VN..33.. series inserts held in place by a combination clamp and pin retention method. The negative rake geometry, with a rake angle of -10.5 and -5.5 degrees depending on reference plane, is well-suited for interrupted cuts and harder workpiece materials where edge strength is a priority. This is part of the ISCAR Isoturn series, engineered to ISO 13399 standards for consistent toolholder-to-insert interface data.
This toolholder is intended for single-point turning on production and jobshop turning centers. The right-hand cutting direction makes it a direct fit for conventional OD turning setups where the spindle rotates counterclockwise when viewed from the tailstock. Machinists and CNC setup technicians working with VNMG331-F3M inserts will find this holder dimensionally matched for that insert geometry. It is not configured for coolant-through delivery, so external flood or mist cooling should be applied at the cutting zone. The 1.69 inch head length and 1.00 inch back-of-bar to cutting edge dimension support standard toolpost and turret mounting configurations.
Accepts VN..33.. series inserts. Compatible insert size code VNMG331-F3M. Designed for use in standard square-shank toolposts and turret blocks accommodating a 0.75 inch shank. Part of the ISCAR Isoturn series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician with the machine in a full stop, lockout-tagout state before any toolholder changeout. Verify that the insert pocket and seating surface are clean and free of chips before seating the VN..33.. insert. Torque the clamp screw according to the insert manufacturer specification documented in the ISCAR tooling manual for this series. Confirm tool centerline height alignment before resuming cutting operations.
