The ISCAR 3401299 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal-cutting applications. It features a 1/2 inch cutting diameter, a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, and a 4 inch overall length with a matching 1/2 inch shank diameter. The tool carries a TiAlCN coating for improved wear resistance and heat performance at elevated cutting speeds. Four flutes with a 38-degree helix angle and a variable index configuration help reduce chatter and improve surface finish. Center-cutting geometry allows plunge entry. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard. This end mill is installed and run by machinists and CNC operators in job shop and production environments.
Suited for slotting, profiling, and pocketing operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The submicron carbide grade supports consistent performance in hardened steels, alloy steels, and stainless steel applications. The spiral flute design promotes chip evacuation in both conventional and climb milling passes. Single-end configuration makes this a direct consumable replacement in standard end mill toolholders with a 1/2 inch bore. Typical applications include die and mold work, aerospace component machining, and general precision part production where tight tolerances and repeatable tool life are required.
Designed as a direct replacement end mill for standard 1/2 inch bore end mill toolholders, collet chucks, and shrink-fit holders used in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Insert the shank fully into the toolholder to the recommended gauge line and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges and coating condition before each setup to confirm the tool is fit for use.
