The ISCAR 3401274 is a single-end square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal cutting and machining applications. Built from submicron-grade solid carbide and coated with TiAlCN, this tool delivers high wear resistance and thermal stability at elevated cutting speeds. The 3/8-inch diameter cutter features 4 flutes with a 38-degree right-hand helix, a variable index design for reduced vibration, and centercutting capability that allows plunge entry. With a 1-1/2-inch length of cut and 4-inch overall length, it suits a wide range of peripheral, slot, and contour milling tasks. Installation is handled by machinists and CNC operators.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills working ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The TiAlCN coating performs well in dry and semi-dry cutting conditions on hardened steels, stainless, and cast iron. The 3/8-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling systems commonly found in job shops and production environments. The variable index flute spacing helps suppress chatter during aggressive side milling passes, making it a practical choice for finishing and semi-finishing cuts.
Designed for use in standard 3/8-inch end mill holders, ER collet chucks, and shrink-fit tooling systems. Suitable for CNC machining centers and manual mills requiring a 3/8-inch shank, 4-flute solid carbide square end mill.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or quill is locked before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the first cut to maximize tool life and surface quality.
